Generate a PDF from Webflow Form Submissions Using PDF.co and Zapier

4 Minutes Read

Automatically turn Webflow form submissions into PDF documents. Zapier passes the submitted information into an HTML layout, and PDF.co converts it into a PDF.

Step 1: Set Up the Webflow Trigger

Publish your Webflow form and submit a test entry containing the information you want in the PDF, such as a name, email address, and message.

Create a Zap and select Webflow → New Form Submission. Connect your Webflow account, select the Site and Form, and test the trigger to retrieve your sample submission.

See the Webflow connection guide for setup requirements.

Step 2: Add PDF.co HTML to PDF Converter

Add PDF.co as the next app and select HTML to PDF Converter. Connect your PDF.co account through the OAuth sign-in window.

In HTML or URL Input, paste this example layout:

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
  <meta charset="UTF-8">
  <title>Webflow Form Submission</title>
  <style>
    body { font-family: Arial, sans-serif; padding: 24px; }
    h1 { color: #263238; }
    .message { white-space: pre-wrap; }
  </style>
</head>
<body>
  <h1>Webflow Form Submission</h1>
  <p><strong>Name:</strong> NAME_VALUE</p>
  <p><strong>Email:</strong> EMAIL_VALUE</p>
  <h2>Message</h2>
  <div class="message">MESSAGE_VALUE</div>
</body>
</html>

Replace NAME_VALUE, EMAIL_VALUE, and MESSAGE_VALUE with the corresponding Webflow fields using Zapier’s data picker. These placeholders must be replaced with mapped fields, not left as literal text.

Step 3: Configure the PDF Output

Complete the remaining settings:

  • HTML Template ID: Leave blank because this example supplies HTML directly.
  • Page Orientation: Portrait.
  • Page Size: A4.
  • Media Type: Print.
  • Name: webflow-submission.pdf.

For additional formatting settings, see the HTML to PDF action documentation.

Step 4: Test and Publish

Test the PDF.co action and open the returned url. Check that the submitted values appear correctly and the layout meets your needs.

To retain the PDF, optionally add a Google Drive upload action or an email action and map the returned URL to its file or attachment field. PDF.co’s output URL is temporary.

Publish your Zap to generate a PDF whenever someone submits the selected Webflow form.

In this tutorial, you learned how to generate a PDF from Webflow form using PDF.co and Zapier.
