Here’s a simple and easy step-by-step guide to rotating PDF pages. Automatically rotate PDF pages when a new file arrives in Google Drive. Choose a fixed rotation angle or let PDF.co detect the correct orientation of scanned text. Let’s get started!
Step 1: Set Up the Google Drive Trigger
Create a Zap and select Google Drive → New File in Folder.
Connect your Google Drive account, select the drive and folder to monitor, and upload a sample PDF to that folder.
Test the trigger and select the sample file.
Step 2: Connect PDF.co
Add PDF.co as the action app and select PDF Page Tools.
Connect your PDF.co account using OAuth: sign in to PDF.co when prompted and authorize Zapier to access your account.
Step 3: Configure Page Rotation
Set the following fields:
- PDF Source Link: Map the File value from the Google Drive trigger.
- Mode: Select Rotate Pages.
- Rotation Angle: Choose the required angle, such as 90, 180, or 270 degrees.
- Page Numbers: Enter the pages to rotate. Rotation uses zero-based numbering:
0is the first page, and0-2selects the first three pages.
For scanned PDFs with incorrectly oriented text, choose the automatic rotation option in Rotation Angle and set OCR Language for auto-rotate to the document’s language. Use this option as an alternative to selecting a fixed angle.

Step 4: Test the Action
Test the PDF.co step and open the returned url.
Check that the selected pages have the intended orientation. If using automatic rotation, confirm that the scanned text appears upright.
Step 5: Save the Rotated PDF
Add Google Drive → Upload File.
Choose an output folder and map the PDF.co result’s url to the File field. Select a different folder from the trigger folder so the processed file does not start the workflow again.
Test the upload and confirm that the PDF is saved. PDF.co’s output links are temporary, so this step keeps a lasting copy.
