Merge ZIP Archives, Documents, and Images into One PDF Using Zapier

Step 1: Prepare the Source Files

Start with a Zap whose trigger provides the files you want to merge, such as an incoming email with attachments.

For testing, you can use direct download links to your own sample files. Each link must be accessible to PDF.co without an interactive sign-in.

Step 2: Add PDF.co

Add PDF.co → PDF Merger.

Connect your PDF.co account using OAuth by signing in and authorizing Zapier.

Step 3: Configure the Merge

Set the following fields:

• Source Files URLs: Map the source file links from previous steps, separated by commas. Place them in the order you want them merged.
• Automatically Convert Non-PDF Files: Select True.
• Output File Name: Enter merged-document.pdf.

You can combine individual document links with a ZIP archive link. PDF.co extracts supported files from the archive and converts non-PDF content before merging.

Use Zapier’s field picker to insert dynamic file links rather than typing their field names. See the PDF Merger documentation for available settings.

Step 4: Optionally Filter ZIP Contents

To process only certain files inside a ZIP archive, enter a filter in Custom Profiles.

For example, include only PDFs and Excel workbooks:

Alternatively, exclude specific files:

These filters apply to files inside ZIP archives. Leave Custom Profiles blank if you do not need filtering.

Step 5: Test and Save the PDF

Test the action and open the returned url. Check that the expected documents and images appear in the merged PDF.

To save a permanent copy, add Google Drive → Upload File, choose an output folder, and map the PDF.co output url to File.

Test the upload, then publish the Zap. The workflow will combine the files supplied by each trigger into one PDF.
