How to Hide Text When Converting PDF to PNG or JPG Using Zapier

Step 1: Set Up Your Trigger

Create a Zap with a trigger that supplies a PDF. For example, select Google Drive → New File in Folder, connect your account, and choose a folder containing PDFs.

Test the trigger and select a sample document.

Step 2: Connect PDF.co

Add PDF.co → PDF to Anything.

Connect your PDF.co account through OAuth, sign in, and authorize access.

Step 3: Configure the Conversion

Set the following fields:

• Output Format: Select PNG or JPG.
• Source PDF URL: Map the Google Drive File value from your trigger, or provide a direct PDF link accessible to PDF.co.
• Page Selection: Enter 0,1 to convert the first two pages, or leave blank to convert all pages.
• Output File Name: Enter a filename with the matching extension, such as page.png.

Step 4: Disable Text Rendering

In Custom Profiles, paste:

Enter this object directly in the field; no additional profiles wrapper is needed.

To explicitly keep images and vector graphics enabled, use:

These options control which PDF objects appear in the rendered image. See the PDF-to-image rendering documentation.

Step 5: Test and Review

Test the action and open the returned image links. Each selected PDF page produces a separate image.

Confirm that PDF text objects are absent and the graphics you want to retain are visible. Download the images before their temporary links expire, or add a storage action to save them automatically.

Step 6: Publish the Zap

Once the output looks correct, publish the Zap. New PDFs supplied by your trigger will be converted using the same rendering settings.
