Convert a ZIP File into One PDF Using PDF.co and Zapier
Automatically convert documents and images inside a ZIP archive into a single PDF when the ZIP file is added to Google Drive.
PDF.co supports ZIP archives containing formats such as PDF, DOCX, XLSX, TXT, JPG, and PNG. See the supported formats documentation.
Step 1: Set Up the Google Drive Trigger
Create a Zap and select Google Drive → New File in Folder.
Connect your Google Drive account and select the folder where incoming ZIP files will be uploaded. Use a folder dedicated to ZIP files.
Upload a sample ZIP to that folder and test the trigger. Select the ZIP file from the returned results. Google Drive trigger documentation
Step 2: Connect PDF.co
Add PDF.co → Merge PDF.
Connect your PDF.co account using OAuth: sign in to PDF.co and authorize Zapier when prompted.
Step 3: Configure the Conversion
Complete these fields:
- Source Files URLs: Map the File output from the Google Drive trigger. This supplies the ZIP archive to PDF.co.
- Automatically Convert Non-PDF Files: Select Yes / true.
- Output File Name: Enter a name such as
combined-documents.pdf.
PDF.co extracts the archive, converts its supported documents and images to PDF, and combines them into one file.

Step 4: Test and Save the PDF
Test the PDF.co action and open its returned url. Check that the expected documents and images appear in the PDF and that their formatting is suitable.
To save the result automatically, add Google Drive → Upload File:
- Folder: Select a destination folder separate from the incoming ZIP folder.
- File: Map PDF.co’s output
url. - File Name: Map PDF.co’s output
name.
Test the upload and open the saved PDF. PDF.co’s output URL is temporary, so this step retains a copy in Google Drive.
Step 5: Publish the Zap
Publish the Zap after testing the conversion and upload.
New ZIP files added to the selected folder will be converted into a combined PDF and saved to your destination folder.
