How to Convert PDF to JPG Using Zapier and PDF.co

Step 1: Create the Google Drive Trigger

Create a new Zap and select Google Drive as the trigger application.

Configure the trigger:

• Trigger Event: New File in Folder
• Drive: Select the appropriate Google Drive.
• Folder: Select the folder that will receive the PDF files.

Connect your Google account and test the trigger. Confirm that Zapier retrieves a sample PDF and provides the file as part of the test data.

Step 2: Add the PDF.co Action

Add an action and select PDF.co.

Choose PDF to Anything as the action event. Connect your PDF.co account when prompted and authorize Zapier to access it.

Step 3: Configure the PDF-to-JPG Conversion

• Configure the PDF.co action:
• Output Format: Select JPG image(s).
• Source PDF URL: Map the PDF file from the Google Drive trigger. When Zapier provides both a file and a sharing link, use the file value.
• Page Selection: Enter the pages to convert, or leave the field blank to convert every page. Page numbering starts at 0; for example, 0 selects the first page and 0-2 selects the first three pages.
• Output File Name: Enter a name for the generated output.
• Password: Supply the password if the source PDF is protected.

Additional settings can be provided through Custom Profiles when you need to control properties such as JPG quality or rendering resolution. For example:

A higher resolution can improve image clarity but may also increase the output file size.

Step 4: Test the Conversion

Test the PDF.co action.

A successful test returns temporary output URL information for the generated JPG image or images. Open the result and verify that:

• The requested pages were converted.
• The images have sufficient clarity.
• The page orientation is correct.
• The selected quality is suitable for the intended use.

Step 5: Save the JPG Output

Add another Zapier action to save or distribute the generated images. For example, you can upload them to Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive.

Map the output from the PDF.co step into the destination application’s file field. Test the complete workflow, then publish the Zap.
