Get PDF Info and Send to Airtable using Make
In this tutorial we will demonstrate how to retrieve PDF information like page count, page size, title, author, and keywords, and update an Airtable table with this information, utilizing PDF.co and the Make platform. Below, you will see a sample Airtable table that includes a PDF attachment along with its associated information.
Step 1: Airtable Search Records
To begin, we will set up the integration with Airtable's Search Records feature to either search for specific records or fetch all records.
Step 2: Setup Airtable Configuration
- Input the name of your Airtable base in the "Base" field.
- Select the name of your Airtable table from the "Table" field.
- Next, choose the Grid View option.
- Select the Output fields where the PDF file is stored.
Step 3: Add PDF.co Module
We will now use the PDF.co Get PDF Information feature to extract information from the PDF document.
Step 4: Setup PDF.co Module
Choose the Import a File from URL option to load the PDF attachment URL.
Select the PDF attachment URL from Airtable.
Step 5: Run Scenario to Get PDF Information
Now, execute the scenario to extract the PDF information.
Step 6: Airtable Update Record
Once the PDF information has been extracted, we will proceed to update the record in Airtable.
Step 7: Setup Airtable Record
- Choose the Airtable base containing the records you intend to update from the "Base" field.
- Select the Airtable table containing the records you wish to update in the "Table" field.
- Enter the specific Airtable record ID you want to update in the "Record ID" field.
- Proceed to map the extracted PDF details, including page size, page count, title, author, and keywords.
Step 8: Run Scenario to Update Record
Now, let’s proceed with running the scenario to update the record in the Airtable table. Afterwards, access your Airtable table to see the updated record.
